Dr David Lamond, BAppSC (Physiotherapy), MBBS, FACEM
David Lamond is the current Deputy Director of the Capital Region Retrieval Service based in Canberra Australia. He also works as a Senior Staff Specialist in the Canberra Hospital Emergency Department and as a Trauma Consultant for the ACT Trauma Service.
David graduated from Flinders University Medical School in Adelaide in 1999. He developed a strong interest in Emergency and Prehospital Medicine as a junior doctor after some formative experiences in his final year of medical school. He commenced his emergency medicine training at the Canberra Hospital in 2002 and started flying with SouthCare Rescue Helicopter in 2004. He completed his Emergency Medicine Fellowship in 2009 and has been actively involved in prehospital and retrieval medicine throughout his career. The Capital Region Retrieval Service performs approximately 530 rotary wing missions per year and approximately 120 road based missions. His clinical and academic interests include major trauma resuscitation and registrar training in prehospital and retrieval medicine. He is a keen mountain biker, trail runner and back country skier.
